Kevin Barkley Smith, age 42, of White Oak passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.
He liked taking care of people and would put everyone before himself. He was a nurse at Bladen County Hospital for 12 years and Southeastern Regional Medical Center for five years in the operating room. He loved hunting, fishing, skiing, boating, dirt bike racing, and he participated in all. He was a people person that loved his girls and family dearly. He was a Christian and attended Briar Branch Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by all.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Albin and JoAnne West Smith of White Oak, his grandmother, Ellen Doris West of Salemburg; three daughters, Brooke, Madison and Isabella Smith all of Elizabethtown; his loving partner, Amy Lane Roberts of Lumberton ; numerous Aunts and Cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 4:00 pm at Elizabethtown Baptist Church with Rev. Carlton Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at Briar Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
