Kimberly Summerlin

Kimberly Hicks Summerlin of Elizabethtown unexpectedly departed this life Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Kim was predeceased by her sister Dana Hicks and her brother Dwight Cashwell. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Mark Summerlin of Elizabethtown; her parents and step-parents Joyce and Edward Cashwell of Elizabethtown and Bobbie and Haven Hicks of Stanley; her brothers and sister-in law Bryant and Heather Hicks and George Cashwell; nephews Wade and Aaron Hicks; her beloved dog Skeeter; and other family and friends. Kim was born in Mecklenburg County and was 46 years old. She graduated from East Gaston High School and studied culinary arts at Gaston Memorial Hospital. Kim was a kind, generous person and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM with the funeral following at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8 at Open Door Ministries 2704 E. Broad St, Elizabethtown. Internment will immediately follow in the Elizabethtown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Kim's church, Open Door Ministries.
