Larry David Nance, 63, of 575 Webb Faulk Road, Bladenboro, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at his home. The service will be Saturday, March 24, at 1:00 p.m. at Richardson Baptist Church, Bladenboro by Reverend Richard Mabe and Reverend Darin Andrews. Burial will follow at Singletary\\'s Cemetery Sand Hills.
Mr. Nance was a significant part of NASA\\'s Apollo program in the 1970\\'s and a pioneer of the Space Shuttle program. He retired from The Boeing Company at Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Evelyn Nance, and is survived by his wife Connie P. Nance, of the home; three sons: Larry David Nance, Jr. and wife Raquel of Florida, Mark Nance and wife Annette of Bladenboro, Buddy Walley of Whiteville; three sisters: Shannon Walley of the home, Helen Nance and Janice Gooden of Bladenboro; three brothers: Steve, Jimmy and Bobby Nance all of Bladenboro; six grandchildren: Allie Nance, Mark Nance and Jena Babson of Bladenboro, Larry David Nance, III of California, Paul Nance and Myles Charlebois of Florida.
Memorials may be made to Richardson Baptist Church, 9842 Center Road, Bladenboro, NC 28320.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 23rd at Bladen Funeral Home, Elizabethtown.
