Larry Wallace Johnson, 71, of Bladenboro passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Ashley Johnson and Eliza Hester Johnson, and one sister, Miriam Suggs. Larry is survived by three sons, Randy Johnson of Greensboro; Jeff Johnson (Kim) of Holly Springs; Nathan Johnson of Bladenboro; daughter, Jackie Pait of Bladenboro; three brothers, Merle Johnson (Marlene) of Bladenboro; Joel Johnson (Jeanette) of Bethel, NC; and Greg Johnson (Barbara) of Bladenboro; three sisters, Deborah Kelly (Donald) of Bladenboro; Edie McKnight (Floyd) of Bladenboro; Greta Jackson (Tommy) of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren: Sam Johnson (Ashlea), Kennedy Johnson, Christian Johnson, Brett Johnson, and one great granddaughter, Naomi Johnson.
Larry was an independent, loving man who adored his family. He did not like others making a fuss over him. His hobbies included duck hunting, fishing, watching Nascar and reading books. He was famous for his boiled peanuts.
The family will receive friends from 10am – 12 noon on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm immediately following the visitation in the Community Baptist Cemetery in Bladenboro. All attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
