L.C. Thompson

Lonnie Columbus \\"L.C.\\" Thompson, Jr. 89, of Bladenboro passed away Friday, July 1, 2011.



L.C. was born on October 16,1921 to Lonnie Sr., and Mamie Lou Hester Thompson. He is preceded in death by his parents: his wife, Ruth Lowe Thompson; a brother, Zack Thompson; and three sisters, Elizabeth Hill; Mary Whitaker, and Dora Williams.



Mr. Thompson is survived by his son; Allen Thompson and wife, Linda of Emporia, VA.; five daughters; Nancy Mitchell and husband Larry of the home; Margie Lewis and husband Livingston of Bladenboro; Sue Galloway and husband Harry of Whiteville; Jane Thompson of Abbottsburg; and Cathy Thompson; of Cherokee,NC; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.



The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 3, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.



A funeral service will be held Monday July 4, at 11:00 a.m. at New Center Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Thompson Jr.; Rev. George Langley; Rev. Kevin Kinlaw and Rev. Tim Sellers. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery.
