Lela Barfield

Lela Mae Barfield, 98, of Bladenboro passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents: Woodward B. and Nellie P. Hester, her husband: Aulty Barfield, son: Billy Causey, four brothers: Stedman, Clarence, WB and Kermit Hester, two sisters: Grace Bennett and Leola Ivey and one grandson: William Causey. Ms. Lela is survived by one son Mickey Barfield and wife Deloris of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren: Drew Barfield of Virginia; Prissey Pope of Lumberton; Crystal Causey of California; Savannah Causey of California; and Donna Davis of Bladenboro and several great grandchildren.

Ms. Lela was a loving, christian lady who loved her family and enjoyed every moment spent with them. She also enjoyed cooking, traveling and attending church. Ms. Lela graduated from high school and Bladen Community College; which she was very proud of. She was a friend to many and will surely be missed.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at West Bladenboro Baptist Church in Bladenboro followed by a funeral service at 3 pm with Rev. David Anderson and Rev. Boyd Britt officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Lewis Cemetery in Bladenboro.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of West Bladen Assisted Living for the tender care administered to Ms. Lela during her stay there.
