Lena Smith

Lena Jane Pait Smith, 83, of Bladenboro, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Bladen County Hospital.



Ms. Smith was born to Hillary Pait and Fannie Ward Pait on December 31, 1922.



Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Smith; mother and father, Hillary and Fanny Pait; and grandchildren, Wilton and Tammy King.



Ms. Lena Smith is survived by her sons, Wilbur Smith, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Bladenboro, NC, and Michael H. Smith and his wife Sue of Bladenboro; daughters, Deborah Edwards and husband Donnie of Greensboro, NC, Sherrill Kinlaw and husband Craven of Bladenboro, and Ruby Paone and husband Martin of Reston, Virginia; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and a dear family friend, Mary Elizabeth Guyton.



The funeral was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Galeed Baptist Church with Dr. Mack Roberts, Rev. Bruce Cannon, and Rev. Charles Brust officiating. The visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Bladen Funeral Home, Elizabethtown. Burial followed at Lewis Cemetery, Bladenboro.
