Leo Bryant

Daniel “Leo” Bryant, age 80, of Bladenboro, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Woodie Bryant, and Bessie Singletary Bryant and one sister, Jerline Bryant Kinlaw. Leo leaves behind the love of his life for 63 years his wife, Kathleen Hardy Bryant of the home, daughters Kathy Bryant Brisson (Ronnie), Helen Bryant Martin (Jerry), and Karen Bryant, son Richard Bryant,  one aunt, Bobbie Singletary, two brothers Larry and Otis Bryant, one sister Betty Sue Mote, eleven grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.

Leo was a compassionate, Godly man who loved the Lord and his family. He would literally give you the shirt off his back if he knew you needed it. Every year he grew a garden and the bounty of that garden he gave to anyone and everyone in the community. He adored his church family, and they loved him. If you visited or attended the church, you could often hear his sweet voice singing with “The Trio”. They enjoyed lifting praise to the Lord whether in revival or to the sick and shut ins. Leo was an outdoorsman by nature. He and Kathleen enjoyed camping down by Lumber River and going to the beach fishing and what they caught was often gave away to friends and family. Leo had a grand sense of humor and a contagious laugh. No one can ever fill that void he has left here but he left the world with memories of what a true neighbor and friend should be like. He will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Greater Vision Freewill Baptist Church in Bladenboro followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm with the Reverend Elvin Meares and the Reverend Ronnie Brisson officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Lewis Cemetery in Bladenboro.
