Leta A. Butler, 84, of Elizabethtown entered into eternal rest Friday, February 15, 2008.
Mrs. Butler was born in Bladen County to the late Sam and Bertha Brisson. She was a homemaker and was known for her famous "tea cookies" that she shared with her family and friends. Her faith in God inspired her devotion to her family and church. She was loved by her family, friends, and her three granddaughters and six great-grandsons.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles W. Butler, along with her parents, Sam and Bertha Brisson.
Mrs. Butler is survived by one daughter, Brenda Butler Bryan and husband, Tony of Jacksonville; one brother, Lindbergh Brisson of Bladenboro; two sisters, Larren Johnson of Jacksonville and Hilda Hester of Bladenboro; three granddaughters, Shanna Oden of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jennifer Nickle of Bladenboro, and April Bradley of Jacksonville; and six great-grandsons, Trevor, Wesley, Justin, James, Gavin, and Fletcher.
The visitation is planned for Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Bladen Funeral Home. The funeral will be Monday, February 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Lewis and Rev. Steve Butler officiating. Burial will follow the service in Brisson Cemetery.
The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness, prayers, food, and support during this time of loss to our family. A special thanks also goes out to all of the churches who kept her on their prayer list.
