Lidia Cruz

Lidia Cruz, 71, of Elizabethtown passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. She was born on August 3, 1952, in Oaxaca Mexico the daughter of the late Maximino Cruz and Cirila Sandoval. 

 Lidia was a brave lady who enjoyed life and making the most of every opportunity she was given. She was not afraid of hard work and doing what it took to keep her home and family happy. She loved to celebrate birthdays and any occasion she could gather and cook for family and friends. She also had a love of animals and enjoyed sitting outside to watch the birds, tending her flowers, and listening to music. Lidia left a legacy of love and laughter that will not soon be forgotten.

 Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her children, Hector Madonado Cruz, Serafin Maldonado Cruz, Miguel Maldonado Cruz, and Elidia Maldonado Cruz, 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

 The family will receive friends from 9-11 am on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Father Zachary will officiate the service. A burial will follow the service in the Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Elizabethtown.

Lidia Cruz, 71, de Elizabethtown falleció en paz en su casa el miércoles 26 de junio de 2024. Nació el 3 de agosto de 1952 en Oaxaca, México, hija de Maximino Cruz y Cirila Sandoval.

Lidia era una señora valiente que disfrutaba la vida y aprovechaba cada oportunidad que se le presentaba. No tenía miedo del trabajo duro ni de hacer lo que fuera necesario para mantener feliz a su hogar y a su familia. Le encantaba celebrar sus cumpleaños y cualquier ocasión en la que pudiera reunirse con familiares y amigos. También amaba a los animales y disfrutaba sentarse afuera para observar los pájaros, cuidar las flores y escuchar música. Lidia dejó un legado de amor y risas que no será olvidado pronto.

Quedan para atesorar su hermoso recuerdo sus hijos, Héctor Madonado Cruz, Serafín Maldonado Cruz, Miguel Maldonado Cruz y Elidia Maldonado Cruz, 13 nietos y tres bisnietos.

 La familia recibirá a sus amigo de 9 a 11 a. m. el sábado 29 de junio de 2024 en la funeraria Bladen Gaskins, seguido de un funeral a las 11:00 a. m. El padre Zachary oficiará el servicio. Después del servicio se realizará un entierro en el cementerio Bladen Memorial Gardens en Elizabethtown.
