Linda Lois Smith Cashwell

Linda Lois Smith Cashwell, 78, of Elizabethtown, NC passed away Sunday, October, 27, 2024 at her home surrounded by family.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, James and Lois Smith; her twin brother, Buddy Smith; and her brother, Bruce Smith.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of fifty-seven years, Harry Cashwell; her daughter, Megan Cashwell Watts and her husband Paul; her sisters, Brenda Hall and Sherry Williams; her brother, Jim Smith; grandchildren, Mollie Tolar, Mia Thompson and Harrison Watts; and many friends and extended family members.

Linda was a kind and giving soul. She would help anyone. Her caring soul and kind heart were just as beautiful as she was. She loved her family, children, and all who had the pleasure to know her. She enjoyed crafts and making pretty things. She enjoyed sewing and making dresses and clothing. Jewelry, bows, pocketbooks and all sorts of creations she could help someone with or to brighten their day. She taught in the Bladen County School system until she retired. This allowed her to help keep and raise her grandchildren. She taught them values, helped instill life lessons, and to bless them with her knowledge and compassion. Linda was always willing to let their friends come over as well, expanding her reach and the impact she left on untold lives. She loved going to watch the grandkids play sports and Mollie and Mia’s dance recitals.  Most recently her favorite thing to ask her grandson Harrison, when he would come to visit was, "How's my blonde haired, blue eyed boy?".  The love she had for her grandchildren was unconditional.

A visitation with family and friends will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from six until eight in the evening at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Beard’s Chapel Baptist Church in Garland, NC with burial following in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
