Lonnie Milton Cox, 84, of Bladenboro entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Lonnie was a Navy Seabees in World War II.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Mary Elizabeth Singletary Cox; one son, Tony Cox; two brothers, Allen and Eddie Cox, and three sisters, Margaret Packer, Lula Mae Edwards and Annie Bell Kinlaw.
He is survived by his wife, Dessie Cox of the home; one son, Terry Cox and wife Georgia Ann of Laurinburg; one daughter, Libby Cox Wilkins and husband Ronnie of Bladenboro; one sister, Monnie L. Edwards of Bladenboro; five grandchildren, Denise Kinlaw, Kim Blackmon, Tim Cox, Kelly Locklear and Jennifer Knight, and eight great grandchildren, Jason L. Kinlaw, Alex N. Kinlaw, D\\'Anna Smith, Lorna Smith, Ashley Locklear, Noah Locklear, Shane Knight and Caleb Knight and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 6, 2012, at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home from 2:00 until 2:45 pm. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dale Hester and Rev. Kenneth Blease officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southeastern Hospice House, 1100 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton, NC 28358.
