Louis Davenport

Louis Delaney Davenport, age 76, of Bladenboro, died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Lumberton. He is preceded in death by his son George Davenport and his wife ElMarie Smith Davenport. He is survived by two sons, Gary and wife Rose Hester Davenport of Lumberton and Marty and wife Rena Britt Davenport of Bladenboro; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is an Army veteran and served the Town of Bladenboro as Chief of Police for eighteen and a half years.



The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at White Oak Freewill Baptist Church, Highway 211 in Bladenboro. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the church and officiated by Rev. Bobby Carden. Burial will follow at Singletary Cemetery in Butters.
