Lucy Kelly

Lucy Elizabeth Hester Kelly, 83, of Bladenboro, NC went to peaceful rest on September 26, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Ralsey and Fannie Pope Hester. She was one of eight children. She was a life long member of Lennons Cross Roads Baptist Church where she was a choir member, past Sunday School teacher and many other service positions of the church.



She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, C.L. "Livy" Kelly of Bladenboro, NC and her granddaughter, Dawn Garvey of Rock Hill, SC and many other brothers and one sister.



She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Kelly and wife, Lavelle of Dillwyn, VA, Darrell Kelly and wife, Pam; and one daughter, Elizabeth K. Garvey and husband, Jon of Rock Hill SC; grandchildren, Jonathan Garvey of Rock Hill, SC, Keith Kelly and Scott Kelly of Dillwyn, VA and Kevin Butler of Wilmington, NC and ten great-grandchildren.



Also surviving are a sister, Marguerite Ellis Blanchard of Chester, SC and W. Tate Hester of Williamsburg, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.



The family will receive friends on Monday, September 29, 2008 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at Lennon Crossroads Baptist Church with the service following at 3:00 pm. and interment at Kelly Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Dr. Fred Senter.
