Lynn Tate Taylor, 49, of Wilmington passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Wilmington, NC.
Lynn was born June 27, 1961 at Fort Benning, GA. She was a graduate of St. Mary\\'s in Raleigh and Salem College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She also received a teaching certificate in Special Education. She began her teaching career at Harkers Island Elementary School and taught several more years in North Carolina and Florida before focusing her attention on her growing family.
Surviving are her husband, James Bryan Taylor of Wilmington, NC; children, James Bryan Taylor, Jr., a graduate student at UNC-Wilmington, Lauren Elizabeth Taylor, a junior at UNC-Wilmington and Tate Wilkerson Taylor, a freshman at UNC-Wilmington; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick M. and Dora Tate of Elizabethtown, NC; brother and a sister-in-law, Dr. F. Bryan and Tracy Tate of Wilmington; nephews Shuford Bryan Tate and Trevor Monroe Tate of Wilmington and special cousin, Martha B. Compton of Wilmington.
A service of celebration and remembrance of Lynn will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 25, 2010, at St. Christopher\\'s Episcopal Church in Elizabethtown, NC with The Rev. Dr. Richard Warner, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends afterward at the Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Christopher\\'s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1841 Elizabethtown, NC 28337 or Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center 1406 Physicians Drive Wilmington, NC 28401.
