Mack Melton

January 21, 1945 — February 3, 2014

Mack Ray Melton, 69, of Elizabethtown passed away Monday, February 3, 2014.He was preceded in death by his parents James and Hattie Melton and one brother Graham Melton. Mr. Melton is survived by his loving wife Frances Melton of the home; one son Scott Melton and wife Jennifer of Lumberton, two daughters: Sharon Phillips and husband Gary of Red Springs and Angela M. Johnson of Bladenboro; one brother Jimmy Melton and wife Dot of Aberdeen and two sisters: Peggy Peele and husband Hubert of Whispering Pines and Hilda Auman and husband Donald of Rockingham. He was known as Popie to three beautiful granddaughters: Olivia and Emilee Johnson and Ava Melton.

Mr. Mack was the owner of Melton's Restaurant in Elizabethtown for many years. He was a long time member of Community Baptist Church where he was a deacon for many years. After retiring from the restaurant business, he enjoyed spending time with his loving wife Frances, his three children and his lovely granddaughters. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 7-9 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 2pm at Community Baptist Church in Bladenboro with. Rev. Robert Ohlmann, Rev. Chuck Cofty, and Rev. Earl Hester officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
