Margaret Townsend

Margaret Singletary Townsend, 80, of Bladenboro passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Singletary, a brother Frank Taylor Jr., and one grandson Caleb Townsend. She is survived by her husband Charlie "Aubrey" Townsend of the home, one son Clifford Singletary of Cameron, NC; two step-sons Phillip Townsend of Zionville, NC and Alan Townsend of Apex, NC; three brothers: Ertle Taylor, Jackie Taylor, and Johnny Taylor, all of Lumberton; two sisters Shelby Smith of Lumberton and Betty Russ of Chicago, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Margaret Townsend was an exquisite house keeper and loved her family. She especially loved to cook for them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church at 11:00 am with Rev. Warren Hill and Rev. Dennis Herrell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
