Marjorie Riddle Garner, 89, of Dublin passed away Friday, January 13, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents: Timon Nicholas and Beulah Pattishall Riddle; husband: Dallas Elwood Garner; three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by son: Woody Garner of Dublin; two daughters: Eve Garner Rogers and husband Charles of Dublin, Marjorie Marie Garner Fisher of Morehead City, NC; four grandsons: Dallas Garner, Justin Rogers, Garner Fisher, Christopher Fisher; five granddaughters: Taralyn Rogers, Leighann Murphy, Caroline Rogers, Madeline Fisher, Emmeline Fisher; five great-grandchildren: Cade Rogers, Elodie Murphy, Leighton Fisher, Cruz Garner, and Claire Rogers.
Marjorie attended the Baker Thompson Nursing School of Lumberton, received a BS in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Masters of Education Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She was a registered nurse working for both Southeastern General and Bladen County Hospital as a nursing administrator. Until retirement at age 70, Marjorie was a nursing instructor at Robeson Community College in Lumberton. She received many certifications in the medical field. She was very creative, talented and enjoyed painting, and various other artistic hobbies.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 12-1:45pm at Dublin First Baptist Church fellowship hall with funeral service at 2pm at the church. Rev. Cameron McGill will be officiating services. Burial will follow service in Allen Cemetery in Dublin.
