Marjorie R. Neff, age 95, of Tar Heel, died Friday evening at home. She was a Charter member of the Tar Heel Rescue Squad; a Sunday School teacher and pianist for many years at Beth-Carr Presbyterian Church; an avid gardener and craftsman. She attended Appalachian State University as well as Pembroke State University. She was a teacher with Bladen County Schools for 35 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Neff. Survivors include a daughter Melinda Neff Underwood of Tar Heel; sister-in-law Flora Robeson of Tarboro; grandchildren Shawn Davis and wife Kelly, Charlotte Davis, Brent Underwood and wife Phoenix,and Kyle Underwood; seven great-grandchildren, Justine, Gabe, Kaydee, Riley, Bailey, Haven, and Easton; nieces Julia Cox and Saundra Plukett; nephews Kent and Jim Plukett; and special caregivers Sarah Wilson, Penny Taylor, and Gloria McLaughlin. The family would also like to thank Lower Cape Fear Hospice for their services.
Services will be conducted on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Beth-Carr Presbyterian Church at 4:00 p.m.
