Martha Baumgardner Jackson,86, of Riegelwood passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013. She was born on December 7, 1926 in Kings Mountain, NC. She is preceded in death by her parents William Edward Baumgardner and Lula Honea Baumgardner, her husband Leon George Jackson Sr., son Leon George Jackson Jr., one sister Letha Squires, two brothers: William and Bob Baumgardner. She is survived by one daughter Sandra Jackson Little and husband Phillip, son Neill Jackson and friend Mary Ellen Register, one sister Dorothy Wayne of Lake Waccamaw, three grandchildren Kristi Spicer, Trey Jackson, and Meredith Jackson, and three great grandchildren.
After graduating from Hallsboro High School, Mrs. Jackson attended James Walker School of Nursing and was employed by Bladen County Health Dept. for 24 years.
She will be remembered for her dedication as a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Carvers Creek United Methodist Church in Council, NC. with Rev. Buddy Champion officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
