Mary Burrington

Mary Alice Monroe Burrington, 65, of Tar Heel, died Monday, January 26, 2009 at Southeastern Medical Center.

She is survived by; three sons, Bob and Jim Burrington both of Wisconsin, and Don Burrington of Tar Heel; companion Glenn Wilkins and two nieces, Sarah Melvin and Alexis Monroe of the home; two brothers, James "Buck" Monroe and William Monroe of Tar Heel; three sisters, Melba Goodwin of Georgia, Linda Devane of White Oak, and Ann Nunnery of Tar Heel; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by her pet dog Boots.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Howard and Berline Monroe of Tar Heel and her brother George Monroe of Tar Heel.

Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2009 from 3:00 until 9:00 pm at the home, 106 Main Street, Tar Heel.

The funeral service will be Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Love Grove Baptist Church, with Brother Wayne Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe (family)cemetery.
