Mary Lee Dickerson Crocker, 101, of Henderson, NC died Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Elizabethtown, NC.
Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Annie Laura Newton Dickerson. She was the widow of James Thomas Crocker.
Mrs. Crocker was a homemaker for many years and was employed in the home office of Rose’s Stores for twenty years. She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Kittrell, NC for more than sixty years. She enjoyed gardening and was known for her beautiful lilies. She was also a quilter and made many fine pieces of needlework. Her faith was strong and her love for her family came before her concern for herself.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., at Sunset Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Shane Benjamin. A celebration of her life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Union Chapel United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Shane Benjamin.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Phillips, a son, James Thomas “Tommy” Crocker (Dottie); grandsons, Michael Phillips (Julie), Mark Phillips and Matthew Phillips, and great granddaughters Nicole and Amanda Phillips; a brother, Albert Dickerson (Ethel) and sister-in-law, Pat Dickerson, and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband she was preceded in death by, a granddaughter, Lara Phillips, three sisters, Irene Flowers, Julia Wortham, and Alice Weatherford, and four brothers Maurice, Henry, Roger, and Randolph Dickerson.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
