Mary Lanier

Mary Lou Redwine Lanier, 96, of Clarkton went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Connor Redwine Davis and George A. Redwine, her husband, Junior Lanier, five brothers, G.A. Redwine, Arthur Redwine, Henry Redwine, Earl Davis, and Hubert Davis, two sisters, Allie R. Watts, and Catherine R. Smith, and two sons-in-law, Gerald Dorsett and Wayne Autry. Left to cherish her memory is son, David Lanier (Brenda) of Lake Waccamaw; one daughter, Brenda Register (Jimmy) of Elizabethtown; one brother, Charles Davis (Barbara) of Whiteville; three grandchildren: Kip Lanier (Jamie), Brent Lanier (Shelley), and Blake Dorsett(Special friend Carsha), five great grandchildren: Tyler Dorsett (Courtney), Josh Dorsett (Hannah), Brenton Lanier, Olivia Lanier, and Dylan Lanier, three great-great grandchildren: Greyson, Caysin, and Eastyn Dorsett, two step-grandchildren: Michelle Rhodes (Randy), Wesley Register, five step-great grandchildren: Allie Phelps (Drake), Branden Marshall (Maddie), Destiny Register, Catilyn Register, and Lane Register, and two step-great-great grandchildren: Wyatt and Emily Phelps.

Mary Lou was a loving mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing a meal for her family. She would always say “Y’all have some more”.  Mary Lou also enjoyed working in her yard and her garden, especially tending her azaleas.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Whiteville Memorial Park in Whiteville, NC with Rev. Richard Priest officiating. All attendees are respectfully asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
