Mary Mccormick

Mrs. Mary Evelyn \\"Sis\\" Brisson King McCormick, (formally of Bladen County) age 94, died July 21, 2011, at the James River Convalescent Center, Newport News, VA.



Mrs. McCormick was born in Bladen County, NC, on January 23, 1917, daughter of the late Alvin Brisson and Celia Florance Britt. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Dublin.



She is preceded in death by her two husbands, Woodrow King (five years) and Francis Milton McCormick (48 years), and one son, K.L. "Hank" King.



She is survived by three sons, Eddie McCormick and wife, Ruth, of Newport News with whom she lived with for two years prior to moving to the convalescent center; Leo Nye King and wife, Shanda, of Williamsburg, VA; and Alan McCormick and wife, Michelle, of Newport News, VA; two brothers, Maurice Brisson of Dublin, NC and Virgil Brisson and wife, Sarah of Saluda, SC; one sister, Audrey Dunham of Dublin; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.



Visitation will be held Sunday, July 24, from 5 to 7 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday, July 25, at 11 am at Bethel Baptist Church, Dublin. Interment will be at the Allen Cemetery, Tarheel, NC 28392.
