Mavis West

Mavis Ellen West age 84 of Riegelwood, died Friday, August 24, 2012 at home. She is preceded in death by her parents, James A. Squires and Tisha Squires; husband, John O. West; seven brothers and one sister.



She is survived by a son, Jack West of Riegelwood; two daughters, Audrey Hardy and husband Ben of Cape Carteret and Becky McDuffie and husband Danny of Carvers Creek; two sisters, Judy Hooper of Wilmington and Geneva Treadaway of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren and two step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.



A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Carvers Creek United Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Buddy Champion and Rev. Brian Perry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall and at other times at the home at 18938 Hwy 87 East, Riegelwood.
