Maxine Evers Lindsay, 75 of Elizabethtown went to be with her Savior Monday, March 13, 2006, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law where she resided during her illness. She graduated from Bladenboro High School and had lived and worked in Martinsville, Va., for 30 years before returning to Center Road Community when she and her husband retired. She had been a paralegal for 20 years. She was a member of Center Road Baptist Church and taught a Sunday School class for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James L. Lindsay, Sr.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna L. McBride, of Elizabethtown; two sons, James L. Lindsay, Jr. of Clemmons and Thomas W. Lindsay of Bladenboro; a brother, David M. Evers, of Bladenboro; and a half brother McCrae Evers of McColl, SC. She had six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at Bladen Funeral Home. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 17, at Center Road Baptist Church, with the Rev. Vernon Britt officiating. Burial will be in New Pait Cemetery.
