Michael Thaggard

Mr. Michael “Mike” Trent Thaggard, Sr., 73 of White Oak, NC, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 31, 2020. He was born in Elizabethtown, NC; son of the late Edgar Brode Thaggard and the late Lula Sutton Thaggard.

Mike was the owner and operator of Thaggard Insurance Agency from 1989 to 2019. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He served six years in the Army National Guard and started Boy Scout Troop 640 in White Oak, NC, where he served as Scout Master. Mike especially enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time on the water. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who treasured time with family.

Mike is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gail Suggs Thaggard of the home; son, Michael Trent Thaggard, Jr. (Tammy) of Durham, NC; daughter, Jill Thaggard Best (Kevin) of Durham, NC; son, Johnathan Edgar Thaggard Sr. of White Oak, NC; grandchildren, Michael and Cameron of Durham, NC and Johnathan and Dustin of White Oak, NC; sister, Mary Jo Adcox, many nieces and nephews and an honorary daughter, Stephanie Kelly.

Due to the current COVID 19 epidemic, a private graveside service will be held.
