Michael Thompson

Michael Thompson, 65, of Bladenboro passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville. He leaves behind two children, Shelly Thompson Taylor of Bladenboro, Taylor Ashton Powers of Iowa, four sisters, Betty Thompson of Iowa, Levona Thompson of Bladenboro, Belinda Dove of Bladenboro, and Vella Rose Babson (Bill) of Elizabethtown, two grandchildren, Noah Taylor, and Valentino Powers, three stepchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Thompson and Mildred Smith Thompson, his wife, Deborah Ann Thompson, brothers, James E. Thompson, Buddy Thompson, infant brother Jesse, and brother-in-law David Dove.

Michael was a compassionate, caring man who loved the Lord and helping others. He enjoyed thrifting with his sister, Belinda and playing the guitar. A caretaker, by nature, Michael stood by his wife’s side during her illness. His devotion as a brother, husband, father, and friend will not be forgotten.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 12:30 pm in the Cashwell Cemetery, off  Burney Rd, in Bladenboro. Rev. McCray Dove will be officiating. All attendees are asked to please wear masks.
