Mildred Lewis

Mildred Butler Lewis, 97, of Bladenboro, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents: Thurman and Myrtle Butler; husband: Robert J. Lewis; daughter: Jean Lewis Holvoldt; four brothers: Franklin, Livingston, Wilton and William Butler; sister: Ruby Carter. Mildred leaves behind her son: Jimmy Lewis and wife Billie Faye of Bladenboro; sister: Jennie Sue Bass of Tennessee; three grandchildren: Milton Ray Tedder, Jr. (Angela), Mary Beth Ivey (Zack), Robert James Lewis III (Andrea); three great-grandchildren: Anthony, Brennan, Austin; many nieces and nephews and a special beloved niece and nephew: Emma and Charles Benton.

Mildred was an affectionate lady who loved children. She enjoyed to cook and to teach at her church. Mildred was active with the orphanages affiliated with Woodmen Insurance. She also loved to travel with her husband.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 1st at 11am in the Lewis Cemetery with Rev. Charles Hester officiating service. The family will receive friends following service at the graveside.
