Mildred Singletary

Mrs. Mildred Penfield Singletary, 81 of Bladenboro passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.



Mrs. Singletary was born on December 25, 1929 to the late Leslie Thomas and Lottie Mae Pittman Penfield. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Colon Singletary; a brother, Marshall Penfield and a sister Annie Ruth Drukenbrod.



The family will receive friends on Friday, March 11, 2011, at Wesley's Chapel from 1:30 until 2:30 pm. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm with Rev. Robert Britt officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley's Chapel Cemetery.



Mrs. Singletary is survived by her daughter Gayle Johnson and husband Andrew of Clinton; three sisters, Betty Townsend, Mable Beard and Bessie Manuel all of St. Pauls; her granddaughter, Candace Marie Butler; her grandson, James Leon Butler and wife Megan; and a great granddaughter, Hally Renee Butler.
