Elizabeth “Minnie Lib” Tatum Sessoms, 95, of White Oak went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2024. She was born in Bladen County on December 29, 1928, the daughter of the late Homer L. Tatum and Aleen Woodburn Tatum.
Lib was preceded also in death by her husband, Roscoe F. Sessoms, brother Vern Tatum, one sister Margie Evans and one great grandson, Jonathan Isaac Freeman. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Vivian Sholar (Danny) of White Oak, Larry Sessoms (Sandra) of White Oak, and Peggy White (Joey) of Lumberton, three sisters, Ann Dunn of White Oak, Shirley Chason of White Oak, and Judy Bradshaw (Ed) of Jamestown, NC, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Lib loved her family and her church. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her heartstrings. She enjoyed spending time with family, visiting her siblings, working outside and cooking. She was a die-hard Duke fan and loved to watch them play basketball. The love she so freely gave to all will be forever remembered and cherished.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 1 pm in the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery in White Oak. A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following the burial at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in White Oak.
