Nancy Carroll Pait

Nancy Louise Carroll Pait, 76, of Bladenboro passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, while at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born and raised in Bladen County, daughter of the late James Albert Carroll and Louise Carroll.

Nancy married the love of her life Danny Pait and together they raised three strong-willed, active boys, Wade, Grant, and B. Jay.  She spent many days keeping those three in line and staying active in their after-school activities. She served as the Bladenboro High School Booster Club president and helped in numerous other school functions. Some of her most precious times were watching her boys and her grandchildren on a ballfield. Nancy also worked in the banking industry for 36 years until her retirement from First Citizens Bank. When not banking, she was selling Home Interior. A crafty lady by nature, it made sense that she encouraged others to decorate their homes. Nancy often made pottery, flower arrangements, bows, and wreaths to give away. She loved her jobs and loved people. Everyone who knew Nancy knew she had the gift of gab and a giving heart. She enjoyed talking on the phone and helping others. Nancy will surely be missed by the family, friends, and community that she loved so well.

Nancy was preceded by her parents, her beloved husband, one sister Faye Guyton, brothers Billy Carroll and James W. Carroll and her dear friend, Patsy Evers. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Wade Pait (Marsha) of Bladenboro, Grant Pait (Tiffany) of Lisbon, and B. Jay Pait (Brittany) of Bladenboro, eight grandchildren Darren Collins (Ceara), Nicholas Collins, Laikyn Pait, Dalton Pait, Evan Pait, Joey Dowless, Stryker Pait, and Luke Dowless and two great grandchildren Braylen Collins and Jayden Sanders.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the New Pait Cemetery in Bladenboro with the Reverend Adam Self officiating. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Wade and Marsha Pait, 4644 Center Rd, Bladenboro, NC 28320.
