Nancy Jane High of Whiteville, 69, passed away Saturday,
March 4, 2006 after a long battle with cancer.
Born December 3, 1936 in Clarkton, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Bessie Nunnery.
Nancy was a very kind, loving and generous lady. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Clarkton. She was an avid lover of antiques and she was a much loved wife, mom and granny.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James Woody High. Four children, Max High of Clarkton, Tony High of Whiteville, Pam High of Boiling Springs Lakes, Jimmy High and wife Linda of Fayetteville. Grandchildren, Max and Morgan High of Boiling Springs Lakes, Jamie Knapp of Virginia Beach, Va, Jennifer, Amanda, and Judy High of Fayetteville, N.C. and Tony High of Knoxville Tennesee, and Christopher High of Columbus, Ohio. Great Grandchild, Sophia Knapp of Virginia Beach Va. She is also survived by one sister, Frances Inderlin and one brother, Roy Nunnery both of Clarkton.
Services will be held Monday, March 6, 11:00 a.m. in her honor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Clarkton. The family received friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church Sunday night.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to her friends and the staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center.
