Nathan W. \\"Nymph\\" Singletary, Jr., 78, of Elizabethtown, died June 8, 2006 in Bladen County Hospital.



Nymph was born in Tar Heel, NC on April 5, 1928. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Elizabeth Gibson Singletary, brother Roger Singletary and sister Althea Brisson.



He is survived by wife Elma Lee Nance Singletary, sisters, Minnie Howie and husband Bobby of Fayetteville, Sara Taylor of Dublin and brother-in-law Louis Brisson of Dublin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.



He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.



He was an active member of the Lions Club, American Legion and Woodman of the World. He retired from the NC Department of Transportation and the Aberdeen Fire Department. After his retirement from the NC Department of Transportation he worked with the Town of Aberdeen for several years. He was an active member of the senior Adult Men\\'s Class of Tar Heel Baptist Church, where he was a life long member.



Funeral services will be held at Tar Heel Baptist Church Saturday, June 10 at 2:00 p.m.. Viewing will be Saturday from 12:00 noon to 1:45 p.m. Burial will follow service at church cemetery. Visitation will follow burial at Tar Heel Baptist Church.
