Nina Ruth Campbell Dickson, 84, of Salisbury, NC passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
She was born October 1, 1933 in Bladen County, NC and was the daughter of the late Julian Jerome Campbell and Nellie Ruth Yarbrough Campbell.
She was educated in Columbus County schools and graduated from Clarkton High School, Class of 1951.
As a teen, she worked for Clarkton Trading Company. She served as an office worker at the First Baptist Church of Clarkton and worked as a bookkeeper for Prince Brothers Furniture Company. Mrs. Dickson was later an office supervisor with Sportee Corporation, office clerk for E. C. Clark Insurance, worked in the Bladen County School System as a school secretary and SIMS Operator for Booker T. Washington Elementary School and as a Spanish Facilitator and office worker at Clarkton High School. She served as religious coordinator at the Yadkin House of Salisbury.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarkton where she was a former Sunday school teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, James Julian Campbell and his wife Elsie, Clarence Felton Campbell, Carroll Jerome Campbell, brothers-in-law, James McDonald, Fred Hall.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carolyn Sue Dickson Mowery and husband Ken of Salisbury; grandchildren Luke Mowery and wife Cara of Raleigh, Daniel Mowery of Greensboro and fiancée Alyssa Prince, and Joseph Mowery of Salisbury; sisters, Elizabeth Campbell McDonald of Albemarle, Etta Gray Campbell Hall of Hope Mills, Sandra Campbell McKeithan and husband Thomas of Lisbon; sisters-in-law, Fay Campbell of Clarkton, Nancy Campbell of Elizabethtown, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Sunday (May 6) at the First Baptist Church of Clarkton, 10233 N. College Street, Clarkton, followed by the funeral service at 3 PM, the Rev. Barry Helms officiating. Mrs. Dickson will lie in state for 1 hour before the service. Burial will follow at Clarkton Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Dickson will be moved from the Summersett Funeral Home, Salisbury to the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home, 3131 Martin Luther King Dr., Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
