Norma Jean McCall, 74, of Clarkton passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Starnes; brother, JP Starnes; sister-in-law, Jane Starnes; nephews: Sonny Coleman and Marc Butler.
Norma leaves behind her husband, James “Buckshot” Lloyd McCall, Sr. of the home; son, James Lloyd McCall, Jr and wife Peggy of Clarkton; daughter, Tammy Fowler and husband Darryl of Clarkton; four brothers: Stevie Starnes, Richard Starnes, Reese Starnes and wife Carolyn, all of Clarkton, Robert Starnes and wife Shawn of Whiteville; three sisters: Peggy Butler and husband Everette of Bladenboro, Rosa Lee Atkins and husband Jack and Sue Coleman, both of Clarkton; sisters-in-law: Becky Schnepf and Grace “Shorty” Cain; three grandchildren: Andy Nunnery, Brandon Edwards (Tori), Shane Dowless (Kailey); seven great-grandchildren: Zachary, Adrianna, Isabella, Riley, Chloe, Ashton and Tucker.
Norma was a humble, sweet lady who always put others before herself. She adored her family and was the happiest when they all were together. She enjoyed cooking, working in the garden, fishing and doing crossword puzzles. She was well known for her good cooking and baking especially her red velvet and pound cakes.Norma will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday, January 24th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, January 25th in the McCall Cemetery with Rev. Anthony Hardin officiating.
