Oral Randolph Cheshire, 72, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. He was born on August 20, 1952, to the late Johnny and Lois Thompson Cheshire. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eddie Cheshire.
Oral was married to the love of his life, Ginger, for 52 years. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, son Heath and their fur baby Tobey. When he was not with his family you would find Oral flying, going to the beach and scuba diving. His family describe him as an adventurous man who would try anything at least once. He was a member of the Bladenboro Historical Society, where he assisted in the running of the Bladenboro Farmers Market, was a DJ, taught Sunday School at Butter Baptist Church for over 20 years, sang at church and ran the sound system. He served in the National Guard for six years. Oral 's loving and gentle spirit will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his wife Ginger Ellis Cheshire of the home, son Heath Cheshire and wife Cindy of West End, brother Howard Cheshire of Goldsboro, and two sisters, Shirley Williamson of Evergreen and Julia Perritt of Bladenboro.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Butters Baptist Church in the fellowship hall with the funeral services at 11:00 am with the Reverend Charleston Guyton and the Reverend Anthony Rich officiating, Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery in Bladenboro.
