Patsy Rhodes

Patsy Bowen Rhodes, 65, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 11, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents: P.M. Bowen and Lucy Conner Bowen, husband Ken Rhodes, and sister: Judy Leggett. Patsy leaves behind her son Jarod Branton Rhodes of Bladenboro; one brother: Danny Ray Bowen and wife Jamie of Tar Heel; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Patsy was a loving wife to her husband Ken of 43 years before his passing in 2018. She was a caring, considerate mother to her son Jarod, as well as her nieces and nephews. Patsy treated them as her own. She was a God fearing lady who enjoyed singing praises to the Lord, especially while her cousin Charlie played the piano. Patsy enjoyed teaching, it was a way of life for her because she loved those children so much. Her vibrant, upbeat and caring nature shined in everything she did and around everyone that met her. Although her light has went out here on earth, it will forever be in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 2 pm at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Bladenboro with Rev. Christopher Hefner officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Bladenboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Autism Society of NC.
