Patsy Saunders

Patsy Ruth Atkins Saunders, 80, of Council passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Whiteville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Conrod Gordon and Annie Mae Ayers Atkins, her husband, Matthew Clark Saunders, Sr., one son, Matthew Clark Saunders, Jr. and brother, John T. Atkins.

She is survived by one son, Wayne Saunders and wife Lynn of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Sharon Clontz and husband Bobby of Hickory; daughter-in-law, Barbara Saunders; two sisters, Lou Fairbanks of Leland and Jeanette Brinegar of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Tiffany Heath, Russell Clontz, Michelle Lewis and Leslie Saunders and six great grandchildren, Christian Heath, Blake Heath, Matthew Barsh Destin Clontz, Aubrey Lewis and Natalie Lewis.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Carvers Creek UMC with Rev. Jimmy Tatum officiating.
