Peggy Gillespie

July 12, 1925 — July 1, 2006

Peggy Attebery Gillespie 80, of Elizabethtown, died peacefully Saturday evening July 1, 2006 at the Elizabethtown Nursing Center.

She was born July 12, 1925 in Pawnee, Oklahoma and was the daughter

of the late Willis and Doris Dawson Attebery. It was there in Oklahoma

that she met her late husband Richard Singletary Gillespie who was stationed

with the Navy.

Peggy made Elizabethtown her home and was employed with the State ForestService for 30 years. She had only two passions in life, her Christian faithand her family. She was a dedicated member of the Elizabethtown Baptist Church for her entire adult life and the most devoted Mother and Mema one could ask for.

She is survived by two daughters, Martha Gooden Schultz and her husband

Dr. Harvey Schultz of Elizabethtown and Melanie Fogleman and her husband Mickey Fogleman of Wilmington. Her most cherished earthly possessions where her grandchildren, Liz and Zack Gooden. Peggy is preceded in deathby her husband Richard and daughter Donna Katherine Gillespie.

The family would like to thank Lillian and Juanita for making it possible for

allowing Mema to stay in her own home for so many years. For the many

sacrifices you made and for treating her as if she were your own family, we

are eternally grateful. To the phenomenal staff of Bladen County Hospital,

Elizabethtown Nursing Center and Lower Cape Fear Hospice who provided

end of life care, you are the best and how fortunate we all are to have these

services available in our community.

A funeral service will take place and will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Alzheimers Association, Lower

Cape Fear Hospice, Elizabethtown Baptist Church, or a christian charity

of your choice.
