Peggy Martin

Peggy Ann Martin, 68, died Saturday at White Lake, NC, after a period of declining health.



She loved the lake, and was a much-beloved member of Camp Clearwater Community, where she resided for ten years.



Peggy's mother, Cathorine Petty Martin, and father, Durwood Martin, are deceased. The sole survivor of the immediate family is Peggy's younger sister, Durrene Martin Strickland, of Wilmington, NC.



Durrene and her husband, Verne, are left to cherish Peggy's memory, along with their children, Martin, of Wilmington; Scott (wife Melissa) of Banner Elk, NC; and Britt (wife Louise) of New York City.



Before settling at White Lake, Peggy had lived and worked in Washington, DC; Highlands, NC; and Raleigh. She was known and appreciated for her independent spirit and marvelous wit.



A brief celebration of her life will be held at sunset at Camp Clearwater on Saturday, December 23, commencing at 4:30 p.m. Flowers may be brought or sent to 5 Amanda Drive, Camp Clearwater, NC 28337. Cremation arrangements and services were handled by Bladen Funeral Home, Elizabethtown
