Purdie G. Bullard, 90, of Bladenboro, died Monday, September 11, 2006 at Bladen County Hospital.
Mr. Bullard was born to Meban Bullard and Jennie Wilson Bullard on October 14, 1915. He was a farmer and retired from Veeder Root where he was employed for many years. Mr. Bullard was a lifelong member of Abbottsburg Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. Mr. Bullard was also an active member of Woodmen of the World and served as a Woodman of the World trustee.
Mr. Bullard is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Letha Bradshaw Bullard; father and mother, Meban and Jennie Bullard; brother, Gibbs Bullard; and sister, Neal Bullard Bowen.
Mr. Bullard is survived by his daughters, Polly Cox and husband Gerald of Brunswick, Georgia and Janet Marchman and husband Don of Gray, Georgia; grandchildren, Glenn Cox and wife, Julie of Savannah, Georgia, Brandi Cox of Savannah, Georgia, and Lindsay M. Rozier and husband Ronnie of Milledgeville, Georgia; and great grandchildren, Will Rozier of Milledgeville, Georgia and Elizabeth Cox of Savannah, Georgia.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Abbottsburg Baptist Church with Rev. Dewey Jackson officiating. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the Bullard Cemetery, Bladenboro.
