Ralph Batton

Ralph Snyder Batton, age 79 of Bladenboro, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at home. He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Packer Batton; one son, Ralph Batton; a sister, Bonnie Foster; a brother, James D. Batton; three grandchildren and one great grandson, Landon Batton.



Snyder was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a loving, family-oriented man. He loved all of his family dearly. He refused to go through life without the joy of living and was not going to let cancer take that away.



He is survived by one son, Jimmy Batton of Bladenboro; four daughters, Vonda Hester and husband Ewen of Bladenboro, Shirley Smith and husband Gerald of Bladenboro, Sheila Harrison and husband Mike of Sanford and Paula Batton of Bladenboro; one sister, Donsil Edwards of Williamson\\'s Crossroads; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.



The family will receive friends on his birthday, Friday, December 28, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. He requested that his services be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Bruce Cannon, Rev. Cameron McGill, and Rev. Junior Tyler. Burial will follow in Bladen Memorial Gardens.
