October 18, 1957 — January 11, 2009

Ramona Skipper Smith, age 51, of 533 Oak Island Road, Bay Tree Lakes, went to be with her Savior in Heaven, Sunday, January 11, 2009, after battling breast cancer for several years.

She and her husband, Jim R. Smith, lived in Indiana for 22 years, where they previously owned and operated two Rehab/Massage Clinics, prior to relocation in her native state of North Carolina.

She touched and impacted many patients and their families as Rehab Director for 5 years at Elizabethtown Nursing Center. Always very busy, she had an additional massage practice at Bladen Fitness Center, and found time to perform as Medical Transcriptionist as well. Integrity, compassion, hard work were some of her qualities her friends and family will remember.

Although she grew up in her early years playing the piano at Abbottsburg Baptist Church, her faith matured, and her vision of the Christian faith expanded and she was active in a variety of different denominational churches in the area.

Being a cheerleader at Clarkton High School, she had become a cheerleader for Christ.

She was a loving and devoted mother of her 3, four-legged children, Prissy, Brittany and Buttons.

By her request a private celebration memorial of her life will he held at a future date and her ashes will be sprinkled over Bay Tree Lake.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Faith Ministries, 56 3rd Street, Dublin, N.C. 28332, Elizabethtown Church of God, Elizabethtown, NC 28337, Colley Chapel, Hwy. 41, Harrells, NC 28444 and the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
