Randolph Dove

Randolph "Claxton" Dove of Bladenboro died on Friday, September 25, 2009 as a result of a medical helicopter crash in Georgetown County, SC at the age of 39.



He was preceded in death by his parents, William Eugene Dove, Sr. and Ila Mae Outlaw Dove; a son, William Travis Dove.



He is survived by his wife, Teresa Bedsole Dove of the home; two daughters, Hayley and Sydney Dove of the home; two brothers, William Eugene Dove, Jr. and wife Rosemary Kearney Dove of Gaithersburg, MD and James Willard Dove and wife Lori of Lumberton, NC.



Claxton was a devoted father and husband, a loving and caring brother and son-in-law. He was full of life and loved serving his community as a volunteer and in his life's work.

Claxton served as a volunteer with Tar Heel and Bladenboro rescue services as an EMT.



Claxton's professional career included work with Bladen County EMS, Cumberland County EMS, and Life Link Critical Care Transport service in Fayetteville, NC. His most recent position was as a Paramedic serving with Med-Care of Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC and as a Critical Care Certified Flight Paramedic with Omniflight in Conway, SC

Claxton touched many lives both personally and professionally. He was much loved and will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home.

The funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Sandy Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Beck officiating. Burial will follow at Bladen Memorial Gardens.
