Rebecca Sue Staton Warwick, 94, of Elizabethtown went to her eternal home on Monday, July 26, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Washington Staton and Lola Link Staton, her husband Joseph William “Billy” Warwick Jr., eight brothers and six sisters. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Sharon Natale (Don) of Elizabethtown and Rebecca “Becky” Dowless (Bobby) of Dublin, one sister Ann Strickland of Garner, sister-in-law Elizabeth Brown of Elizabethtown, two grandchildren, Joseph Dowless and Charity Ferrell (Eric), two great grandchildren Liam and James Ferrell and one step-granddaughter Crystal Dowless.
Betty was known for her sweet smile, gentleness, and kindness. She loved her family, her church and her many friends and lived a life of service to them all.She was a dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church, serving on the Hospitality Committee and various positions in the Woman’s Society and circle. Betty worked as a hospital volunteer at Bladen County Hospital for 23 years. She is well known for her delicious cooking and especially her cakes. She loved flowers and working in her yard.Whether called Mama, Grandma, GeeGee, Sister, Aunt, or friend Betty was best known for her love and acceptance of others.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown. The family will have a private graveside service.
