Rev. Grady Hunt

Rev. Grady R. Hunt of Red Springs, NC, completed his journey on June 13, 2019. He was born on December 7th, 1933. Mr. Hunt was the loving son of Johnnie and Dessie Mae Hardin Hunt.

He was previously employed as the Assistant Funeral Director for Red Springs and Heritage Funeral Homes, a U.S. Army Veteran, a Minister with the NC Baptist Association, and a lifetime farmer. He was known for his hard work, helping those in need and spreading the Gospel where-ever he went.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Connie Hunt Locklear; a grandson: Cameron Brewington; three brothers: John A., Curtis, and Carl Hunt; a sister: Shelby Hunt Burnett; wife: Elsie Hunt and a great-granddaughter: Alexis Angel Hunt.

He is survived by two sons: Ronnie R. Hunt (Beth) and Donnie Hunt of Lumberton; two daughters: Gladys Hunt and Vonnie Hunt of Fairmont; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and two great, great-grandchildren. Two bonus children: Chris Cummings (Amy) and Issac Ransom; loving friend: Lucille C. Jacobs and her family. Carol and Terry Goins, David and Pam Jacobs, Luevelyn and Steve Tillman, Roman Jr. and Angel Jacobs; Two special bonus grandchildren: Josiah AKA Rambo and Michael Jacobs; special friend: James Black and a host of other nieces, nephews, and family.

The first visitation will be held at Boles Funeral Home in Red Springs on Monday, June 17th from 3-5pm. The second visitation will be at Smyrna Baptist Church from 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at Smyrna Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 18th at 3pm. Burial will follow the service at the family cemetery at 1142 Allenton Road Lumberton, NC.
