Rev. Levie Bryan

Rev. Levie H. Bryan, 99, of Bladenboro passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Guyton Bryan, his parents, Albert and Carrie Dove Bryan, one son, Linwood Bryan, one granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Bryan, six brothers: Wade, Belton, Lelmar, Ernest, Derwood, and Willerdane and two sisters, Viola and Gertie Lee. Rev. Bryan leaves to cherish his memory, three sons: Harden Bryan (Marie) of Ammon; Richard Bryan (Fran) of Bladenboro; and Rev. Elton Bryan (Frances) of Sanford; three brothers: Houston Bryan of Elizabethtown; Carlton Bryan of Sanford and Hearl Lane Bryan of Bladenboro; one sister, Stenza Lambert of Hendersonville; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Rev. Bryan was a pastor for the Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Association for over 65 years. During his lifetime he pastored many churches, including Key West, Elizabethtown, Magnolia (Burgaw), Gastonia and Roseboro. He loved the Lord, his family, horses and fried chicken. Rev. Bryan was married to the love of his life, Eula for 68 years before her untimely death. When not preaching, Rev. Bryan worked for Houston Peanuts and enjoyed playing Santa for the Jones Department store on occasion. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, gardening, and bowling with the senior league.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 pm on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm with Rev. Charlie Tatum, Rev. Tommy Tatum, and Rev. Randy Carter officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Guyton Cemetery in Bladenboro.
