Richard Dowless

RICHARD WESLEY "DICKIE" DOWLESS, JR.



"Dickie" Dowless, 58, resident of Whiteville, died Monday, July 31, 2006 at Columbus County Hospital.



Born January 30, 1948, in Bladenboro, NC; he was the son of Doris Dowless and the late R.W. Dowless, Sr.



He was a member of Victory Baptist Church.



Surviving are his wife, Shelby Jean Dowless, of the home; daughter, Gigi Jean Talbert of Douglasville, GA; daughter, Tabatha Renee Darby of Greenville, SC; mother, Doris Dowless, of Whiteville, NC; a brother, Jerry Allen Dowless, of Herndon, VA; a sister, Wanda Faye Batten, of Clarkton, NC; two granddaughters, Charity Talbert, of Douglasville, GA and Brooke Darby, of Greenville, SC; four grandsons, Jonathan Talbert, Justin Talbert and Jason Talbert of Douglasville, GA and Hunter Darby of Greenville, SC.



The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church, Highway 701 South, Whiteville, NC.



Services will be conducted Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Stuart officiating. Interment will follow in Community Church Cemetery in Bladenboro, NC.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fundamental Baptist Home Missions, PO Box 1510, Bessemer City, NC 28016.



The family will be at the home of Doris Dowless in Whiteville, NC.
