Ricky Glenn Byrd, 63, of Bladenboro went to his eternal home on Sunday, August 22, 2021. He leaves behind his parents, Thomas and Jean Byrd of Dunn, NC, his wife, Kathy Byrd of the home, son Graham Lee Byrd (Jeannie) of Tennessee, stepson Collin Bridgers of Lumberton, two stepdaughters Amanda Cox (Brett) of Lumberton, and Kayla Bridgers of Bladenboro, one grandchild Reagan Byrd, step grandchildren Corbin Cox, Delanie Cox, Cole Dicicco, Wyatt Dicicco and Kaison Holmes and his inlaws, Lorraine and Tex Childers of Bladenboro.
Ricky loved the Lord and loved his family. They were everything to him. He spent his life preaching the word and he had a passion for ministry. He always tried to breakdown his sermons so even a child could understand. His love of life showed through in everything he did from helping others to just joking around. He enjoyed seeing others happy. Ricky loved a good country meal and beach music. He spent a lot of time working on his boat in preparation to carry his family out on the ocean with it. Ricky is now in the place he preached so often of and his family longs for the day they will see him again.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Bladenboro Chapel of Bladen Gaskins on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Ray Davis and Rev. Randy Beasley officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn. All attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
